Week 4-5: Go/No Go

For these two recent weeks, we are preparing for the go/no go presentation.

Our scope:

Expand upon previous group’s script Include: different shapes of garages, stairwells, elevators, egress, handicap/compact spaces, adjust on/off ramps, and other attributes.

Problem Statement:

The construction industry does not have any tools to help model parking structures and surface lots.

Research Question:

How could an automated process to create parking structures be more resource efficient than a manual process?

Solutions Approach:

Current Plan

-Research and test the previous team’s tool in Dynamo and Revit

-Figure out the best way to fix the existing problems in the tool

-Add our additional functionalities

Back-up Plan

-Assess existing code, picking best aspects

-Re-build program in our own way

-Expand parking structure from our own code
